Caterpillar and Butterflies

Greeting card illustrating a caterpillar and butterflies. Printed in England on a light cream, 300gsm carbon-neutral Italian paper, made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste.

Adapted from the 1730 edition of Metamorphosis insectorum surinamensium (first published 1705) by German entomologist Maria Sibylla Merian. Merian was a pioneer of insect study, and her artworks are believed to be the first which depict insects together with the plants that they feed on. Royal Entomological Society library.

All our greeting cards are 170mm x 120mm (approx. 5” x 7”) and blank inside, individually wrapped in a compostable wrapper made from plants, with a 100% recycled, 110gsm kraft envelope.
